Dega Darlins 2011
Hi Ladies.
Good showing at Hoover on Saturday. Congrats on your Third place finish. We have LOTS of work to do over the next few weeks that will require group and individual effort. Keep up the good work and push hard for the next few weeks as we head toward championships... next stop.. Killen, AL.
Click here for the Brooks High School; Killen, AL itinerary.
Be prepared to dress out daily during class time between now and championships.
We are VERY busy between
now and championships. Go
ahead and check out the
changes now so you can plan.
Especially pay attention to
SCGC Championship week.
We have a lot of rehearsals to
make up for being off for Spring
Break. :)
Our schedule is:
Ellis Emeralds 4pm
Dega Addition 4:55pm
Dega Darlins 8:05pm
We would like to have lots of friends and family there. This is the closest
competition to Talladega, so it might be the only chance some people get to see you live.
INVITE EVERYONE!

Let the ride BEGIN! WOOoooOOOOoOooooOooOooOoo!
Be sure to check out the calendar on dega band for rehearsal updates and such.... OFTEN. With Winter Guard going full speed ahead and the band getting ready for MPA and all of the other events going on it is a roller coaster ride for sure.
So watch the calendar and hang on. The ride will be a good one! :)
Don't forget winter guard shirt forms are due Tuesday the 9th!
If you have changes to your rooming list you provided for Nashville, let me know ASAP!
Perseverance, dedication, pride and a strong work ethic go a long way, not to mention an outstanding sense of teamwork and sisterhood. I am so proud of the work that you have done in the past week and even more proud that it was recognized at Oak Grove with a FIRST place finish. The smiles on your faces in this picture says it all. You are putting Talladega on the Map!Saturday was a busy day and yet I heard no complaints. Thank you for the hard work you put forth with your group, our other groups and the many floors that you pulled for various SCGC groups. It made for a very busy day. Tasks such as these do not go unnoticed.
I know that you have great things ahead of you and can't wait as we move forward in the season. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off for sure.
Regular rehearsal Tuesday night at ZEJH with Brian. 5:30-8:00.
Dega Darlins: 1st place in class SAAA
Hi Ladies!
You have been working hard and I hope you are as excited about this upcoming week as I am. Of course it is going to be SUPER BUSY! But the payoff will be GREAT!
Be sure to check the calender on dega band quite often. Practices are listed. Click on the name of the rehearsal to get more details. (your pop-up blocker may have to be turned off.) Notice that Tuesdays practice will be at Talladega High School. I will let you know for sure on Monday if that is for sure. (I have to double check on the gym.) Wednesday after school til 4:00 will be at the high school as well. Everything else will be at ZEJH.
Queen of Hearts!
I hope that some of you are participating in the pageant. You ALL should be. You would do awesome and have a GREAT time. If you are interested, the packet said due the 22nd, but there was a misprint. You have until the 27th to turn them in, which is Wednesday.
Honor Band Tryouts!
All of you should be auditioning for honorband. I know you have a competition the day of, but you can at least see where you would have placed and get the shirt if you would like. I know that you would do well. If you do audition you will be allowed to go first so that you can make it to practice at 5:30, hence the reason practice is at THS. Just some scales that you play everyday and sight-reading!
Let's have a GREAT week as we prepare for the Oak Grove Competition. If you would like to attend or assist at the Ellis Emerld practices or Dega Addition, you are always welcome to do so. Let me know and I can get you the times.
Hi Ladies.
I just wanted to compliment you on a GREAT first trip to start the winter guard season. I am very excited and I know that this is going to be a great year!
There were so many things great about Saturday. You eagerly came to Ellis on Saturday morning bright and early, ready to go. We got everything loaded in a timely and efficient manner. Then upon arriving in Lawrenceburg, TN, you were very patient and got things done as they needed to be. Ignoring the obstacles and challenges. You worked hard all the way down to even taking the floor up and down the stairs.
The performance that you gave was full of emotion and outstanding effort; A great 1st performance no doubt. The focus and effort you showed during warm-up and the performance was amazing. I am so proud of each of you. You have been presented many challenges this year and you are clearly taking on each one with a vengeance. This is what makes a great TEAM! The dedication, teamwork and class that you portray all the time will only make you one of the best teams around!
I know that this is going to be an amazing season. I have listened to the tapes and reviewed the scores and will share information with you on Tuesday. Lots of great things! Brian commented that incomplete shows get incomplete scores and he is so right. Is was field day and you did what you were expected to do to get the first show under your belt. Now let's focus on the next task at hand Oak Grove... woo hoo! It starts Tuesday at Practice.
Check the calendar for practice times and details this week and next. Click on the actual listing and it will take you to the details. Honor band people should have time to audition before practice.
See you there!

Winter Guard is HERE! I know you are excited and so am I. Camp this weekend will kick off our season and I hope that it will be a great one. Information regarding camp was given out today, if you were absent or did not receive it please be sure to pick it up in the band office.
I also want to remind you that demerits are applied from tryout to tryout. If you already have demerits and receive more they will be added to what you already have. They DO NOT start over until after the next audition process occurs in April. Demerits will be enforced in order to help sustain the quality of the group.
See you FRIDAY!
